Our Christmas hams are traditionally smoked, hand prepared for easy carving, and ready to serve cold, warmed through, or glazed. Choose from half leg, whole leg, or boneless options to suit your crowd and oven size. All products are prepared in a Coeliac Australia accredited environment.

Ham Styles

Half Leg Ham

Classic bone in look and flavour. Fits most ovens and suits family gatherings.

Whole Leg Ham

Impressive centrepiece for larger groups. Generous yield with traditional presentation.

Boneless Ham

Compact and easy to slice with minimal waste. Suits smaller ovens and platters.

Size and Serves Guide

  • 3 to 4 kg serves 8 to 10 with sides
  • 4 to 6 kg serves 10 to 16
  • 6 to 8 kg serves 16 to 22

How To Serve

  • Cold: Slice and serve with mustards, chutney, and fresh salads.
  • Warm: Cover with foil and heat at 160°C until just warmed through.
  • Glazed: Score the fat, brush with glaze, and bake at 180°C, basting every 10 minutes until glossy.

  • Remove skin, leave a thin fat layer, and score in a 2 cm diamond.
  • Use roughly 3 parts sweet to 1 part acid with optional spice.
  • Rest 10 to 15 minutes before carving.

Storage and Handling

  • Refrigerate at 2 to 4°C on arrival.
  • For bone in hams, use a clean ham bag or pillowcase rinsed in a solution of 1 cup vinegar to 4 cups water. Wring out and refresh every 2 to 3 days.
  • Keep boneless hams tightly wrapped to prevent drying.
  • Once opened and carved, consume within 5 to 7 days for best quality.
  • Use clean utensils and limit time at room temperature.

  • Use a long, sharp carving knife and a steady board.
  • For bone in, cut a small wedge at the hock end, then slice across the grain into even slices.
  • For boneless, square one end and slice thin, even pieces.

How do I keep my meat fresh until Christmas Day?

We recommend storing your order in the coldest part of your fridge. For larger orders, an esky with plenty of ice packs works well. Our team can provide specific storage and reheating tips when you collect your order. Remember to get one of our ham bags at checkout.

What happens if I need to change or cancel my order?

Please contact us as soon as possible. Changes can usually be made up to one week before your scheduled pick-up or delivery. After that, preparation may have already begun.

Can I order for a specific weight or portion size?

Absolutely. Our butchers can portion, tie, or season your meats to suit your gathering. Simply note your preferences when ordering online or speak with our team in-store.

Do you offer glazed hams?

Yes. Our hams are available prepped and ready to glaze or supplied fully glazed. We also stock our house made glazes, together with Beerenberg glazes and condiments to finish your ham perfectly at home.

Are your Christmas meats gluten-free?

Yes, all our house-prepared Christmas meats are gluten-free. The Butcher Shoppe is Brisbane’s only Coeliac Australia-accredited butcher, and every product is handled with care to meet strict gluten-free standards.

Can I choose a specific delivery time?

While we can’t guarantee exact delivery times, our drivers follow set routes each day. If you have special access instructions for gates or lifts, please include them in your order notes so we can deliver smoothly.

Do you deliver Christmas orders?

Yes, we deliver chilled orders across Brisbane and the Gold Coast as normal, from 15 December to 24 December we will be running deliveries everyday. Delivery slots are limited and finish by lunchtime on Christmas Eve. You can select your preferred delivery date at checkout.

When can I pick up my Christmas order?

Pick-up is available from our Cannon Hill butcher shop in the lead-up to Christmas. We offer extended trading hours from mid-December, with the final collection window available on Christmas Eve before lunchtime.

When should I place my Christmas order?

We recommend placing your order as early as possible. Orders open in 27th October, and popular items like hams and turkeys often sell out before Mid December. Early ordering also helps secure your preferred pick-up or delivery day.
